PEPPER HAMILTON LLP: Pepper Hamilton Elects Eight Attorneys to Partnership

Pepper Hamilton LLP issued the following announcement on Jan. 2.

Pepper Hamilton announced that eight attorneys have been elected to the partnership effective January 1, 2020. All were promoted from within the firm.

Gallagher, chairman of the firm’s Executive Committee. “Each one of our new partners has shown an exceptional commitment to client service — from zealously advocating for their clients to navigating complex transactions to protecting companies against risk. About Our New Partners

Kevin Crisp is a member of the Trial and Dispute Resolution Practice Group in the Orange County and Los Angeles offices. Mr. Crisp’s practice encompasses commercial litigation and government investigations. He has represented clients involved in a range of finance-related litigation, including corporate fiduciary duty, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcy matters. Before attending law school, Mr. Crisp worked in the banking and securities industries. He earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2008 and his B.A. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001.

Allison DeLaurentis is a member of the Health Sciences Department in the Philadelphia office. Ms. DeLaurentis focuses her practice in white collar defense and corporate investigations, particularly in the health care industry. She has represented major pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, payors, providers, defense contractors, financial institutions and individuals in parallel federal criminal, civil and state attorney general investigations. Ms. DeLaurentis also advises health care industry clients on compliance with federal and state regulations. She earned her J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2010 and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Pennsylvania State University in 2007.

Justin C. Esposito is a member of the Private Clients Group in the Philadelphia office. Mr. Esposito concentrates his practice on estate, tax, business succession and generational wealth planning and administration for high-net-worth individuals and families. He counsels clients on matters involving estate, gift, GST and income taxes, and closely held business planning. Mr. Esposito counsels individual and corporate fiduciaries with respect to estate and trust administration, and he also handles charitable trusts, foundations, nonprofit organizations and other philanthropic matters. Mr. Esposito earned his J.D., with honors, from University of Connecticut School of Law in 2008 and his B.S. from Ithaca College in 2005.

James M. Hipolit is a member of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group in the Berwyn office. Mr. Hipolit focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. He also represents strategic buyers and sellers in M&A transactions and represents companies with respect to corporate governance, structuring and corporate finance matters. Mr. Hipolit earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2009 and his B.A., summa cum laude, from the College of William and Mary in 2006.

Leah Greenberg Katz is a member of the Health Sciences Department and the Trial and Dispute Resolution Practice Group in the Philadelphia office. Ms. Katz represents and counsels a broad range of clients in complex commercial litigation and regulatory matters, with a particular focus on the health care industry. She has significant experience defending clients in consumer class action litigation and represents clients conducting internal investigations. Ms. Katz earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law in 2009 and her B.A., cum laude, from Washington and Lee University in 2005.

Frank D. Liu is a member of the Intellectual Property Department in the Boston office. His practice focuses on patent litigation matters, particularly those before the U.S. International Trade Commission. Mr. Liu also has considerable experience evaluating and mining patent portfolios, as well as handling inter partes review proceedings before the U.S. Patent Office. Mr. Liu has counseled clients in various technology spaces, including in the areas of digital imaging systems, digital signal processing, graphics processing, integrated circuit design, semiconductor layout and fabrication, optical imaging systems, and dental software. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 2009 and his B.S., with honors, from University of Illinois in 2006.

Alex C. Nisenbaum is a member of the Health Sciences Department in the Orange County and Los Angeles offices. His practice is focused on information technology transactions and data privacy and security compliance matters. Mr. Nisenbaum advises clients on compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act, HIPAA/HITECH, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, cross-border data transfer issues, state data protection and breach notification requirements and the development and implementation of privacy policies and “best practices.” Mr. Nisenbaum is certified as an information privacy professional by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2008 and his B.A. from University of California, Los Angeles in 2004.

David Stauber is a member of the Tax Practice Group in the New York office. Mr. Stauber focuses his practice on the federal income tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, fund formation, and securities offerings matters. He advises U.S. and non-U.S. clients on the tax aspects of structuring and implementing taxable and tax-free mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, leveraged buyouts and joint ventures. Mr. Stauber also provides tax advice on capital markets transactions and regularly advises private equity funds and their investors on their investments and fund-related matters. He handles a broad range of transactions, including cross-border transactions and corporate restructurings, and has considerable experience with both inbound and outbound international tax matters. Mr. Stauber earned his J.D., cum laude, from Michigan Law School in 2008; his LL.M. in taxation from New York University in 2019; and his B.T.S., summa cum laude, from Beth Medrash Gohova in 2001.
