PITTSBURGH – The former chief financial officer of the HarborCreek Youth Services has sued her former employer, claiming she was wrongfully terminated.
Elizabeth Iadeluca sued in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania on March 30. According to the lawsuit, she claimed she was told she was fired because of loss of “trust and confidence,” when in actuality she was fired after she refused to sign a performance document that she said wasn’t an accurate account of her performance of duties.
She sued under False Claims Act for retaliation, claiming she was “discharged from employment because of lawful acts which she performed to prevent the making by HYS of false or fraudulent claims with the federal government; as such, her discharge was in violation of 31 U.S.C. section 3730(h)(1),” according to her lawsuit.
She also sued for violations of the Pennsylvania Whistleblower Law.
She has requested a trial by jury of eight people as guaranteed by the Seventh Amendment.
The plaintiff is represented by Richard Ruth of Erie.
