PITTSBURGH — A legal assistant is alleging she was fired after disclosing her health issues with her job being transferred to a younger employee.

Cynthia Boslet filed a complaint April 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Evey Black Attorneys LLC, The Law Offices of Louis Walton LLC, Nathan Karn Sr., and others alleging violation  of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act and other claims.

Boslet, who is  51 years old, began working as a legal assistant for attorney Louis Walton in 1992 at his Altoona-based practice that specialized in Workers' Compensation prior to the practice being sold to Evey Black in 2012. She alleges that in 2018 after informing the firm that she had carpel tunnel, required knee replacement surgery and was being treated for depression, she was terminated without receiving her $52,000 guaranteed salary per her employment agreement.

Boslet seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Anthony Bowser and Solomon Krevsky of Krevsky Bowser LLC in Lemoyne.
