LEWISTOWN —  A McClure-area attorney is alleging he received illegal telemarketing calls on his cell phone from a health insurance seller.

Robert Kline filed a complaint March 25 in the Court of Common Pleas against The Aliera Companies, Inc., doing business as Shelley Steele, alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, invasion of privacy and other claims. The defendant removed the case to federal court on April 23.

Kline alleges in his complaint that Shelley Steele used illegal telemarketing to sell its insurance services. Kline claims he received calls from Shelley on his cell phone using an automated dialing system in violation of federal law. He alleges the nuisance calls caused him to suffer injury due interruptions and depleting of his cell phone battery life.

Kline seeks monetary relief of $2,000 and all other just relief.
