Class action: There's something unnatural in Renpure Plant products labeled natural

PITTSBURGH – Renpure Plant beauty products should not be marketed as “natural,” a new class action in Pittsburgh federal court says.

Rachel Binakonsky filed the suit April 29 with her lawyers at The Keeton Firm against MAV Beauty Brands, which is headquartered in Canada.

A study of the ingredient list in MAV’s Renpure Plant line shows 11 synthetic ingredients, the lawsuit says.

“A reasonable consumer’s understanding of the term ‘natural’ comports with that of federal regulators and common meaning,” the suit says.

“Consumers lack the meaningful ability to test or independently ascertain or verify whether a product is natural, especially at the point of sale. Consumers would not know the true nature of the ingredients merely by reading the ingredients label.”
