Lewis Brisbois issued the following announcement on June 18.
Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Sunshine R. Fellows to its Pittsburgh office as a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice. Ms. Fellows brings to the firm almost two decades of experience in labor and employment law, regularly defending employers in state and federal court and administrative proceedings.
In her practice, Ms. Fellows represents clients against claims related to discrimination, retaliation, employment-at-will, restrictive covenants, wrongful discharge, leaves of absence, breach of contract, defamation, and fraud. Ms. Fellows has also litigated several wage and hour class and collective actions on behalf of employers, as well as matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, and the City of Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations.
“I’m very excited to be joining a firm with such a strong national platform,” said Ms. Fellows. “I’ve spent much of my career working with EPL insurers in the Western Pennsylvania region, and moving to Lewis Brisbois will allow me to expand my network within that industry.”
“I’m also looking forward to collaborating with a large group of talented peers both in the Pittsburgh office and around the country,” she added.
In addition to assisting her clients with navigating complex litigation, Ms. Fellows also counsels them on how to minimize employment-related claims. Her specialized expertise in employee relations and human resources issues allows her to help employers develop and implement personnel policies, procedures, and training programs.
“We’re pleased to add a skilled employment lawyer to our team,” said Pittsburgh Managing Partner Todd A. Gray. “Sunshine has established an impressive book of business in the region that can now benefit from the firm’s extensive resources. And developing our L&E capability in the Pittsburgh office has been a priority for our national clients as well, so bringing Sunshine on board helps us work towards that goal.”
Ms. Fellows graduated, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she served as a research editor for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. She also holds an undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Fellows is admitted to practice in the State of Pennsylvania. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and in several state and federal courts in West Virginia and Michigan. Ms. Fellows is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Allegheny County Bar Associations.
