Duane & Morris Law Firm issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.
Duane Morris LLP has joined The Valuable 500 initiative to promote inclusivity and awareness of people with disabilities. In doing so, Duane Morris affirms its commitment to the recruitment, promotion and inclusion of people with disabilities.
The Valuable 500 is a global movement working to stand against the disability inequality crisis by obtaining 500 of the world’s largest businesses to commit to placing disability inclusion on their business leadership agenda. Disability is included in five of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, as 15 percent of people (1.3 billion) worldwide live with some form of disability and 53 percent of the worldwide population lives with a person with a disability. While 90 percent of companies claim to prioritize diversity, only four percent focus on making offerings that are disability-inclusive and only eight percent of companies feature people with disabilities in their marketing and advertising collateral on a regular basis. The Valuable 500 seeks to educate businesses about the power of this huge market of talented employees who can contribute significantly to the business sustainability agenda, and valuable customers with a significant spending power of $8 trillion per annum.
To date, more than 350 CEOs across the globe have taken the pledge, which brings the combined revenue of The Valuable 500’s current members to more than $4.5 trillion, encompassing nearly 60 sectors, with more than 11.9 million employees across 30+ countries.
