Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.

Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP announced today that it has elected seven attorneys to the firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2021. The new partners are:

Matthew Antonelli (Washington, D.C.): Mr. Antonelli concentrates his practice on port and maritime law, as well as insurance coverage. His experience in the maritime area includes assisting ports, ocean carriers, marine terminal operators and other entities dealing with matters under the Shipping Act, Jones Act and related claims. In his insurance practice, Mr. Antonelli represents insurers on coverage-related disputes, including on issues of professional liability, business disruption and cybersecurity. He was named to The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch list for Construction Litigation in 2020.

Dasha G. Brockmeyer (Pittsburgh, Pa.): Ms. Brockmeyer represents large and small employers, in both the private and public sectors, on matters involving employee benefit law. To provide practical advice, Ms. Brockmeyer draws on her previous experience as in-house benefits counsel and in-house benefits tax attorney for two Fortune 500 companies. She is a regular contributor to the Firm’s HR Total Rewards blog on employee benefits developments.

Rohit Kapuria (Chicago, Ill.): Mr. Kapuria focuses his practice in general corporate and securities law, representing both public and private companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of securities and SEC disclosure, and corporate governance. Over the last few years, Mr. Kapuria has been actively working to develop the Indian and Gulf countries' EB-5 markets. He regularly speaks on EB-5 topics both nationally and internationally. In 2016 he was selected to the Top 5 EB-5 Rising Stars list, and has been named a Top 25 Immigration Attorney by EB5 Investors Magazine for the past five years.

Patrick F. Nugent (Philadelphia, Pa.): Mr. Nugent represents a variety of clients, including institutions of higher education, energy companies and insurers, in regulatory matters and disputes. Mr. Nugent has represented clients in matters involving a broad array of contractual, tort, statutory and constitutional issues – before agencies, trial courts and appellate courts alike – including: due process, takings, the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Natural Gas Act, Title VI, Title IX, Section 1981 and other civil rights and anti-discrimination statutes. Mr. Nugent is a member of the Firm’s nationally-ranked Environmental Law Practice, and has served on the team handling several high-profile pipeline matters in the state and federal courts.

Carolyn A. Pellegrini (Philadelphia, Pa.): Ms. Pellegrini assists employers with labor and employment disputes and other sensitive matters affecting their professional relationships with their employees. Colleges and universities in particular rely on Ms. Pellegrini for representation in litigation and advice on day-to-day operations involving HR issues, and their compliance with federal and state laws. Her work for educational institutions has included compliance reviews, investigation of complaints, issuance of investigation reports, and responses to information requests from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR).

Igor Pleskov (Philadelphia, Pa.): Mr. Pleskov concentrates his practice in transactional real estate matters including the acquisition, disposition, financing, and leasing of property. Prior to law school, Mr. Pleskov was a retirement plans services representative for Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., where he provided procedural support for retirement services and document review for financial advisors and client associates. Mr. Pleskov frequently writes columns for The Legal Intelligencer on a variety of real estate issues.

Jay Reilly (Washington, D.C.): Mr. Reilly represents biotech, medical device and diagnostic companies, as well as universities and nonprofits, in strategic transactions in the life sciences industry, particularly complex collaborative arrangements and technology acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Reilly has extensive experience negotiating and closing joint ventures, licensing arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital financings. He also handles day-to-day agreements such as manufacturing, clinical trial, consulting and sponsored research agreements. Mr. Reilly is a co-leader of the Firm’s Maryland Emerging Company Roundtable initiative.
