PITTSBURGH - FeelNu Medical Spa and Wellness Center LLC, a spa in McKees Rocks, faces charges from a Rochester, Minn., woman who received second-degree burns during a laser hair removal treatment at the spa, according to documents filed Feb. 26 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

Plaintiff Coryn Thomas-Porter visited FeelNu in September 2020 for laser hair removal treatment. Thomas-Porter suffered second-degree burns to her face, neck and chest area, injuries that have significantly impacted her ability to work and quality of life, the suit said.

The plaintiff is suing the spa for one count of negligence, potentially including inadequately trained employees or failure to remedy faulty equipment. She is seeking damages exceeding $35,000.

Thomas-Porter is represented by Swartz Culleton PC of Pittsburgh.
