Folsom supermarket sued for allegedly dangerous broken sidewalks

MEDIA - The Acme Supermarket in Folsom was brought to court after a shopper allegedly tripped on a piece of broken sidewalk. 

The complaint was filed May 5 by plaintiff Carol J. Amelio in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas against defendants Acme Markets Inc., Albertson's Inc. and John W. Harper/Harper Family Trust, the property owner of the market. 

According to the complaint, Amelio visited the store on May 14, 2019, when the toe of her shoe allegedly caught on the elevated portion of the shoe's broken sidewalk. Amelio says she tripped and fell, causing injuries to her wrist, foot, ribs and many other areas. 

The defendants are sued for negligence, premises liability and loss of consortium. 

Amelio requests at least $50,000 in damages and is represented by Frank W. Daly and Associates.
