Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP issued the following announcement on June 4.
Troutman Pepper received several awards at the Global M&A Network’s 2021 USA M&A Atlas Awards last month – the coveted “Healthcare M&A Law Firm of the Year” award, and two health sciences-focused recognitions, including the “Pharmacy Services Deal of the Year,” and “Deal of the Year – Mid Markets.”
Troutman Pepper received a “Deal of the Year – Mid Markets” award for its role in counseling Rite Aid in its acquisition of Bartell Drugs. Rite Aid will add Bartell’s 67 stores in Seattle and throughout King, Snohomish and Pierce Countries in Washington state, which generate over $550 million in revenue and fill approximately 5.5 million scripts annually, to its existing 69 Seattle-area stores. Bartell stores will continue to operate under the Bartell name.
The firm also earned the “Pharmacy Services Deal of the Year” award for its role representing ExactCare Pharmacy, a national provider of at-home clinical pharmacy support for patients with chronic conditions and multiple medications, in its sale to CarepathRX. A Philadelphia-based Troutman Pepper team served as ExactCare’s special health care regulatory counsel in the transaction.
Partner John Jones accepted the awards on the firm’s behalf during a virtual ceremony on May 25-26. The annual awards event celebrates the achievements of successful dealmakers and leading firms.
Troutman Pepper’s Health Sciences Practice Group includes more than 170 attorneys who represent clients such as innovative biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device developers and manufacturers; physicians, hospitals and other health care providers; health insurers and other payors; and a wide range of members of the health care supply chain.
