Hammer gavel

MEDIA — A woman alleges she suffered an infection and other injuries after getting synthetic nail tips due to the negligence of a salon in Upper Darby.

Fatimah Ajani filed a complaint Aug. 17 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Vu Nail Salon LLC and Vu Nail Salon alleging negligence.

Ajani alleges in her complaint that she went to Vu Nail Salon in Upper Darby on Aug. 17, 2019, to have synthetic nails applied to her fingernails. She claims that Vu Nail Salon's employee failed to perform the procedure correctly which resulted in her getting an infection and suffering scarring, nail loss, emotional distress and incurred medical expenses.

Ajani also claims in her suit that the defendant was negligent for failing to provide safe and hygienic conditions at the salon, failing to apply the nail tips properly and failing to use proper materials. She further claims the defendant's negligence for failing to train their employees on the proper methods to apply nail tips and that they used "overly aggressive and rough techniques" and also failed to warn her of the hazard.

Ajani seeks monetary and all other just relief. She is represented by Robert Datner of The Datner Firm in Landsdowne.
