Mcnees Chair and Attorney Appear on Central Penn Business Journal’s 2021 Power 30 List in Law & Lobbyists

McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC is pleased to announce that the Firm’s Chair Brian Jackson and attorney Denise Elliott were selected to the Central Penn Business Journal’s 2021 Power 30 List in Law & Lobbyists.

Each year, Central Penn Business Journal recognizes those who shape our communities and influence our quality of life through the legal and political foundations our society depends upon.

Jackson joined McNees in 1994 as an associate in the Labor and Employment Practice Group.  During his tenure, Brian has served as a Practice Group Leader (2002-2017) and Vice Chair of the Management Committee (2005-2018).  On November 1, 2018, Brian was elected Chair of the Firm.  While his primary focus is on serving the Firm, Brian continues to represent employer clients, predominantly as lead negotiator in collective bargaining and as counsel in labor arbitration matters.

Jackson is a Director with Team Pennsylvania, a public-private partnership that initiates and supports innovative programs to improve Pennsylvania’s competitiveness and economic prosperity.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Capital Region and as Chair of the Board of Directors of Trinity High School.

Elliott practices in the McNees Labor & Employment Practice Group.  She focuses on defending self-insured employers in workers’ compensation matters and providing representation and counsel to clients in employment discrimination litigation; ADA/FMLA compliance; drug and alcohol issues in the workplace; and health and safety.  She is certified as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section, is a frequent speaker on the topic of medical marijuana in the workplace and is a member of the Pennsylvania Chamber’s Medical Marijuana Work Group.

Elliott joined McNees in 2014 and was elected to membership in 2019.  She chairs the Professional Development and Education Committee and co-chairs the Wellness Committee.  Outside of McNees, Elliott was recently elected as Chair of the Board of Directors of Girls on the Run Lancaster/Lebanon.  She also serves on the Board of Directors and Personnel Committee for Union Community Care (formerly Lancaster Health Center), is a member of the parent School Board at St. John Neumann Catholic School, is a Coach for Girls on the Run and serves as a classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement of Central PA.
