Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC issued the following announcement on Jan. 20.
Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome Ryan W. French to the firm’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including the areas of mass tort, premises liability, product defect, insurance bad faith, mechanics’ liens, trade secret misappropriation, and business torts. French also acts as outside general counsel for several closely-held distribution and manufacturing companies in Western Pennsylvania.
While attending law school, French was a legal intern with Columbia Artists Theatricals in New York City, touring Broadway theater productions across the United States and Canada. He also interned for Titmouse Animation Studio in Hollywood, California, producing internationally broadcast animated television shows and the Art and Entertainment Law Project in San Diego, California, where he was a certified law student providing pro bono representation to low-income artists.
French is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, New York Bar Association, Allegheny County Bar Association, and Clarion County Bar Association. He supports both Arise (formerly the Lawrence County Women’s Crises Shelter) and Humane Animal Rescue.
French joins Eckert Seamans from Robb Leonard Mulvihill LLP and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Thomas Jefferson School of Law (2014) and an undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh (2011).
