PITTSBURGH — An aerospace company is facing a class action suit alleging it failed to properly compensate its employees for all hours worked.
Wade Harrington, individually and on behalf of all class members, filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Paradigm Aviation alleging violation of the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act and Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law.
According to the plaintiff's complaint, Harrington worked for Paradigm from April 2016 through October 2021 as an avionics technician. He claims that he was paid hourly and that he and other class members were not paid for all compensable hours.
Specifically, Harrington alleges that Paradigm improperly reduced the number of weekly regular and overtime hours it paid him and that he and the class members were often required to work more than their scheduled eight-hour shift.
He further alleges he and the class members either began work before their scheduled shift, did not take a lunch break or stayed after their shift was scheduled to end. He also claims Paradigm's time keeping system did not accurately reflect the hours worked and that when he complained about the illegal pay policy, he was told to either "accept" the pay policy "or quit."
Harrington seeks monetary relief, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Michael Josephson and Andrew Dunlap of Josephson Dunlap LLP in Houston, Joshua Geist of Goodrich & Geist PC in Pittsburgh and Richard Burch of Bruckner Burch PLLC in Houston.
