PITTSBURGH — A woman claims she was injured during an altercation with a husband and wife after the husband threw an object at her vehicle.

Robin Faulkner filed a complaint Feb. 1 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against James Gazis and Melissa Gazis alleging negligence.

According to Faulkner's complaint, she was parked near the intersection of Pearl Street and Lorigan Street in Bloomfield on Oct. 20, 2021, while waiting to pick up her grandson. She claims Melissa Gazis began screaming and waving her arms while verbally harassing as her husband James Gazis joined in and then threw a pumpkin at her car.

Faulkner alleges the pumpkin struck her in the face and caused her to suffer a concussion, traumatic brain injury, nose laceration, facial contusions, whiplash and injuries to her eye. She claims James Gazis' negligence for escalating the situation and failing to keep himself and his wife under control.

She also claims Melissa Gazis' negligence for failing to intervene and discourage her husband from picking up and throwing the pumpkin at her vehicle.

Faulkner seeks monetary relief, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Brendan Lupetin of Lupetin & Unatin LLC in Pittsburgh.
