Dilworth Paxson LLP issued the following announcement on Feb. 15.

Dilworth Paxson LLP partner Linda Dale Hoffa has been invited to join the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. The Academy was founded in 1954 and is recognized as the most prestigious organization of trial lawyers in the world. The Academy limits Fellowship to 500 active trial lawyers from the United States, and includes over 150 Fellows from nearly 40 countries across the globe.

Fellowship in the Academy is by invitation only, and trial lawyers become Fellows only after an extremely rigorous vetting process, which includes both peer and judicial review. The Academy seeks out Fellows who have achieved a career of excellence as shown by their skills in trial, and as demonstrated by their integrity and professionalism. Fellows participate in many pro bono efforts and contribute their time and resources to furthering the Academy's mission to expand the rule of law and elevate standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession.

“The Firm congratulates Linda on this very special achievement,” said Dilworth Chairman Larry McMichael. “Dilworth has a long tradition of very accomplished trial lawyers and Linda is one of our best.”

Linda is recognized as one of Philadelphia’s leading white collar defense lawyers and chairs Dilworth’s Government Investigations/White Collar Defense Practice Group. She has leveraged her investigative and trial expertise as former Criminal Division Chief at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia and top prosecutor at the Pa. Attorney General’s Office in favorably resolving for her clients complex cases brought by both federal and state prosecutors. Known as a compassionate advocate respected by clients and colleagues alike, Linda has also garnered numerous awards and accolades over the course of her career. This includes her induction in 2009 as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and her repeated selection to The Best Lawyers in America®.

“I am deeply honored to have been selected for membership in this esteemed organization that invites so few members nationally and regionally,” said Linda Dale Hoffa.  “Trial advocacy has been my passion since my first trial when I stood up in federal court afraid that I would be unable to speak.  And that’s why I have taught – and continue to teach - to share with law students what I have learned over the years and to prepare the next generation of great trial attorneys.”
