MEDIA — A nail salon is facing a negligence claim from a customer who allegedly slipped after lotion and oil were applied to her feet during a pedicure.

Sakisa Crump filed a complaint March 2 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Nancy Ton Nu doing business as Pretty Nails Salon alleging negligence.

Crump, according to her complaint, received a pedicure at the Pretty Nails Salon on Chester Pike in Folcroft on Aug. 1, 2020. She alleges that a salon employee applied lotion and/or oil to the bottom of her feet and then directed her to walk across the salon.

Crump claims that as she stepped out of the pedicure service chair and walked across the tile floor, she slipped, fell and suffered injury to her right knee and back and aggravation of her osteoarthritis. She alleges the defendant's negligence for failing to place rugs or other safety precautions in the area, failing to prevent water from accumulating on the floor and for not providing slippers and "anti-slip" foot wear.

She also alleges the defendant failed to warn of the dangerous condition or inspect its premises to correct any unsafe conditions. Crump claims the defendants failed to properly maintain the salon premises or exercise reasonable diligence.

Crump seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Jenna Leo of Badey, Sloan & Di Genova PC in Philadelphia.
