PITTSBURGH — A woman alleges rug installers hit her in the head while doing work in her office.

Nicole King filed a complaint March 11 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Diego's Flooring, Diego Tuapante and Rite Rug Co., doing business as Riterug Flooring alleging negligence.

King, according to her complaint, was working as a property manager for Crossgates in Pittsburgh on March 12, 2020. She claims the defendants were installing rugs on the premises and while attempting to maneuver the rugs, they struck her in the head and knocked her to the ground.

King alleges she suffered injuries to her head including a concussion, neck pain, emotional distress and other injuries as a result of being struck. She further alleges the defendants were negligent for failing to act in a "workmanlike" manner during installation and for failing to follow proper installation while pedestrians were in the area.

She claims the defendants also failed to warn of the dangerous condition, failed to allow her to have safe passage and failed to hire and train qualified employees. King alleges she also suffered permanent disability and impairment and incurred medical expenses as a result of the accident.

King seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Gary Ogg of Ogg, Murphy & Perkosky PC in Pittsburgh.
