MEDIA — A disabled woman alleges a Community Transit's driver refusal to assist her off the bus at her dialysis appointment caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

Angela Griffith filed a complaint March 9 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Community Transit of Delaware County Inc., John Doe 1-5 and John Doe Corporation 1-5 alleging negligence.

According to her complaint, Griffith, who is disabled, was a passenger on a Community Transit bus on June 22, 2020. She claims that as the bus stopped at Crozer Medical Center, where she was being dropped off for her dialysis treatment, the driver refused to assist her to the front door of the hospital per the defendant's door-to-door assistance program.

Griffith claims as a result, she mis-stepped, fell and suffered permanent injuries. She alleges the defendants' negligence for failing to help her from the bus, failing to make sure she was safely transferred from the vehicle to the curb and for failing to take precautions to safeguard her.

Griffith seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Sheldon Goodstadt of Oxman Goodstadt Kuritz PC in Philadelphia.
