MEDIA — A Travelodge by Wyndam hotel guest claims she suffered bed bug bites during her stay.

Shentell Gray-Sutton filed a complaint March 9 against Travelodge Hotels INc., and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc., doing business as Travelodge by Wyndham - Essington, John Does 1-10 and others alleging breach of contract, violation of the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, negligence and other claims.

The plaintiff, according to her complaint, checked into the Travelodge by Wyndham Essington on Industrial Highway on Oct. 29, 2021. She claims as she slept through the night in the hotel bed, she experienced "pinching sensations" and itching all over her body.

The plaintiff further claims that by morning, she had bed bug bites over her arms, hands, face, back and neck. She alleges that after complaining to hotel management, she was not rendered medical care and had to seek treatment on her own at an urgent care clinic.

Among her claims against the defendants are that they neglected to take reasonable actions for the safety of hotel guests and failed to warn of the hazardous condition. She also claims that online reviews show many guests who also encountered bed bugs while lodging at the hotel.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Joseph Lento of The Lento Law Group in Philadelphia.
