PHILADELPHIA — A man alleges he suffered injuries from excessive force and assualt by an Upper Chichester Township police officer.

Jeremy Pyle filed a complaint May 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Upper Chichester Township, Dominic J. Venuti, Allen Reeves, III and Fred Rhodes, Jr., alleging excessive force, assault and battery and other claims.

According to his complaint, Pyle was at a residence in Upper Chichester on May 3, 2020 and became lethargic and disoriented after using narcotics. He alleges emergency personnel were on the scene and that Venuti "gave chase," pushed him through a screen door and tackled him onto the deck.

Pyle further alleges Venuti then kicked and struck him while pressing his foot into his neck and tasered him several times. He claims the other defendant officers did nothing to prevent the Venuti's excessive use of force and that they failed in their duty to intervene.

Pyle claims he suffered electrocution to his testicles, thighs and groin as well as injury to his muscles, tissues, spine, ligaments, nerves and incurred medical treatment expenses. He also claims he suffered humiliation and psychological harm and that the Chichester Township officers were improperly trained and supervised.

Pyle seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Robert Datner of The Datner Firm in Landsdowne.
