PITTSBURGH — A former employee alleges a Pittsburgh-based crane rental company filed a frivolous suit against him in retaliation for his wage payment claim.

Dennis Allison filed a complaint May 10 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Allegheny Crane Rental Inc., alleging wrongful use of civil proceedings and other claims.

Allison, according to his complaint, was a sales representative from December 2017 through June 2019, and initiated a wage payment claim against the defendant and Kyrk Pyros in August of 2019. He alleges that following his claim, Allegheny Crane alleged he misappropriated the company's trade secrets and filed a complaint against him in October of 2019 which was then voluntarily dismissed with prejudice.

Allison further alleges that Allegheny Crane acted in bad faith and filed the claim against him in retaliation over his wage payment action. He also alleges Allegheny Crane acted without probable cause and used the legal process to harass him which caused him to incur attorney fees and other legal expenses.

Allison seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Richard Cromer and Daniel Yeomans of Leech Tishman Fuscaldo & Lampl LLC in Pittsburgh.
