MEDIA — A couple allege the wife suffered serious injuries after falling and striking her head while a patient at Crozer Chester Medical Center.
Maggie L. Pinder and Victor Pinder filed a complaint June 2 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Prospect Crozer LLC, Prospect CCMC LLC, John Does and Jane Does 1-X, ABC Corporation and others alleging negligence.
The plaintiffs allege in their complaint that while Maggie Pinder was an inpatient at Crozer Chester Medical Center, she fell and struck her head. They claim as a result of her fall, she suffered a subdural hematoma, a subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, fainting spells, tremors, balance problems and other damages.
The plaintiffs allege the defendants' negligence for failing to properly oversee the persons under their control and care, failing to retain competent physicians and staff and failing to have policies and procedures in place for care or patient fall assessment. The plaintiffs also allege the defendants did not address safety concerns in light of Maggie Pinder's known fall risk and failed to take an adequate patient history including medications upon her admission.
The plaintiffs seek monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Harry Oxman and David Kuritz of Oxman Goodstadt Kurtiz PC in Philadelphia.
