During a career split between the DOJ and Am Law 100 firms, McAndrew has developed an impressive practice involving counseling on, investigating and litigating internet-related issues. As a former DOJ cybercrime prosecutor, he has extensive experience in digital investigations and litigation as well as governmental demands for data and assistance in regulatory, civil and criminal investigations. He also advises technology, media, government, financial services, retail and other clients on internet speech issues. McAndrew has led hundreds of digital investigations into cybercrime and other misconduct, and has tried dozens of cases to verdict — many of which involved high-profile and cutting-edge technology issues.
McAndrew’s arrival further strengthens BakerHostetler’s highly regarded DADM Practice Group. His litigation and investigation experience in both the public and private sectors, coupled with extensive board- and senior-executive-level counseling on cybersecurity and other cutting-edge technology issues, allow him to help clients navigate their most critical legal and cyber issues.
By appointment of the Supreme Court of Delaware, McAndrew serves as co-chair of its Commission on Law and Technology, which develops educational programs, guidelines and best practices regarding the use of technology and the practice of law. He is an avid commentator, presenter and author on legal issues related to cybersecurity, digital privacy, cybercrime, computer forensics and internet safety.

McAndrew earned a B.A. from The College of New Jersey and a J.D. from The Catholic University of America, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Catholic University Law Review. He began his legal career in Wilmington as a law clerk to Judge Collins J. Seitz Sr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
