MEDIA — A guest who slipped on a wet staircase at a golf club in Media and suffered multiple injuries is claiming negligence.

Daniel Cavalieri filed a complaint July 21 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Township of Marple, doing business as Paxon Hollow Country Club, and others alleging negligence.

Cavalieri, according to his complaint, was at the Paxon Hollow Country Club in Media on Aug. 1, 2020, playing a round of golf. He alleges that as he was going down the stairs at the tee box for the eighth hole on the course which led to a cart path, he slipped on a "wet, defective and dangerous condition." '

Cavalieri claims as a result of the fall, he suffered permanent disability and impairment including a fracture which required surgical repair and medical expenses. He alleges the defendants' negligence for not constructing and maintaining the walkway and staircase in an appropriate manner and for allowing the defective condition.

Cavalieri also alleges the defendants did not warn of the hazard or take steps such as using barricades, barriers or non-slip mats to prevent injury to visitors. He claims the defendants were also negligent for violating local and federal building codes.

Cavalieri seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Gerald Baldino, Jr., of Sacchetta & Baldino in Media.
