PITTSBURGH — A man alleges a slippery substance on the floor of a community center basketball court in Allison Park caused him to fall and suffer a broken leg, ankle and other injuries.

Maliq Kerr filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Hampton Community Center alleging negligence.

According to Kerr's complaint, he was at the Hampton Community Center on McCully Road in Allison Park on Aug. 4, 2020. He claims that while on the basketball court, he slipped on a wet spot on the floor and suffered a broken leg and ankle, ruptured ligaments and other injuries.

Kerr further claims Hampton Community Center was negligent for causing and permitting the dangerous and unsafe condition to exist, for failing to warn of the hazard and defective condition on its premises and for not warning users of the hazard. He alleges Hampton Community Center was also negligent for failing to cordon off the dangerous condition, and not inspecting its premises for defects in a timely manner.

Kerr claims due to his injuries, he suffered pain, mental anguish, required surgery on his ankle, suffered impaired health and incurred medical expenses.

Kerr seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by G. Christopher Apessos of Apessos Law LLC in Pittsburgh. \
