Abigail S. Pressler—an accounts receivable regulatory compliance counsel with extensive experience assisting clients in federal and state regulatory investigation actions—has joined Ballard Spahr’s Business and Transactions Department and Consumer Financial Services Group as Of Counsel, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced today.
Ms. Pressler is resident in the firm’s Philadelphia office. She is a well-known authority in accounts receivable compliance who audits and advises domestic and international clients on accounts receivable regulatory compliance, policies and procedures, and multi-jurisdiction litigation strategies. She also works with clients to prepare for and navigate regulator examinations by drafting responses to regulators’ requests and preparing executives to testify.
Ms. Pressler is the 10th attorney to join the Consumer Financial Services Group in the past six months, a group that includes Of Counsel Brian Turetsky in New York, Partner Michael R. Guerrero in Los Angeles, Partners Michael Gordon and Lisa M. Lanham in Philadelphia, and Of Counsel Rinaldo Martinez in Washington, D.C.
Before joining Ballard Spahr, Ms. Pressler served as general counsel for one of the nation’s largest accounts receivable management organizations. In that role, she oversaw the company’s audit, compliance, human resources, legal, and quality assurance functions.
“Ballard Spahr is the foremost name in consumer financial services law,” Ms. Pressler said. “The exciting thing about this industry is that it is constantly changing. I spent several years as external legal counsel representing a variety of financial service providers before going in-house as General Counsel for a successful company. I’m looking forward to expanding my practice and working alongside my Consumer Financial Services colleagues to provide even better service to clients.”
