Jennifer Porter, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Health Sciences Department, was recognized among the 2022 Women of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Porter is among 36 “talented and tenacious” women who were selected from nearly 300 nominations. Last year, Troutman Pepper Partner and Health Sciences Department Chair Rachael Bushey received the award.
“I am honored to be recognized alongside such accomplished women in the Philadelphia area and am proud to represent and serve clients doing important work in the life sciences space,” Porter said.
Now in its 27th year, the Women of Distinction program recognizes women in the business community who are blazing a trail in their companies, are respected for accomplishments within their fields, give back to the community, and are sought out as respected advisors and mentors.
Porter advises life sciences clients through their most important strategic transactions. She represents public and private pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in a broad range of matters, including U.S. and international mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, initial public offerings (IPOs), capital markets transactions, Securities Exchange Act reporting, licensing and collaboration, and other strategic transactions.
In addition to her busy practice, Porter finds time to give back to the local community. She has volunteered with, and provided pro bono services to, the Philadelphia-area branch of Girls on the Run, an organization that promotes girl empowerment through providing programs in Philadelphia-area schools to teach girls confidence, kindness, and decision-making skills. She also has provided pro bono legal services through Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and HIAS Philadelphia.
Porter will be recognized at a Nov. 17 awards event at the Crystal Tea Room and in a special print edition of the paper on Nov. 18.
