Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Nevena Simidjiyska, who was appointed to the ABA’s Export Controls and Economic Sanctions Steering Committee for a one-year term effective August 8, 2023.
A longtime active member of the ABA section, this will be Simidjiyska’s third time serving on the steering committee where she will assist with policy formation, education, outreach and advocacy in the areas of United States export controls and economic sanctions and embargoes.
As Co-Chair of the firm’s International Trade Group and Chair of the firm’s CFIUS and National Security Group, she advises public and private companies on export licensing, economic sanctions, and related internal controls, including compliance under the Export Administration Act, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). With her extensive knowledge of both mergers and acquisitions and export compliance, companies also turn to her for guidance with restrictions on foreign investments in relation to the acquisition of and investment in U.S. businesses and compliance with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) review process.
She earned her J.D. from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and her A.B. from Princeton University.
