Troutman Pepper is proud to support the Equal Justice Works Fellowship Class of 2023. Equal Justice Works is the nation’s largest facilitator of opportunities in public interest law. More than 75 Fellows were announced on May 10, 2023.

Every year for more than three decades, the Equal Justice Works Fellowship program welcomes a class of public interest lawyers who design projects with legal services organizations that advocate for underserved communities and promote equal access to justice. Troutman Pepper, along with other law firms, corporations, foundations, and individuals, funds these fellowships and supports these projects that aim to advance social equity.

For this Fellowship class, Troutman Pepper and Archer Daniels Midland Company are co-sponsoring Conner Kozisek, who is graduating from New York University School of Law. While in law school, Kozisek interned with the Fair Elections Center, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and the Brennan Center for Justice. As an Equal Justice Works Fellow, Kozisek will be hosted by the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, where he will work on non-partisan voter protection measures. Koziesek plans to focus his work on access to the polls, addressing polling place closures and last-minute changes to polling place locations, which may create hurdles for voters to cast their ballots. The firm is proud to support Kozisek’s important work in this area.

Equal Justice Works has awarded more than 2,000 Fellowships to lawyers who are committed to ensuring equal access to justice. On average, 85% of Equal Justice Works Fellows remain in public service positions.

Each year, Troutman Pepper attorneys dedicate thousands of pro bono hours in support of nonprofits, immigrants, military veterans, children, the wrongfully convicted, civil rights and social justice initiatives, and so many more. Learn more at troutman.com/pro-bono.
