Litigators Samantha Banks and Edward Sholinsky Join Fox Rothschild in Philadelphia

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Samantha Banks and Edward J. Sholinsky have joined our Litigation Department as partners in the Philadelphia office.

“Samantha and Ed bring a wealth of employment-related litigation and counseling knowledge to the firm,” said Lauren P. McKenna, Fox’s Philadelphia Office Managing Partner. “The pair regularly represent businesses and nonprofits to navigate and resolve commercial disputes and workplace matters. We are thrilled to welcome them to our national litigation team.”

Banks handles complex commercial litigation, business disputes, employment discrimination claims, restrictive covenants and wage claims in state and federal courts for a broad range of clients. She advises employers regarding workplace issues, providing pre-litigation counseling and risk assessment, negotiating employment and noncompete agreements, and helping with personnel decisions. Banks also has substantial experience conducting internal investigations for corporate clients and private and public schools and universities.

Banks provides pro bono legal services to the Support Center for Child Advocates and has previously served as pro bono counsel for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Prisoner Civil Rights Panel and the Pennsylvania Innocence Project.

She earned her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and her B.S., with high honors, from Lehigh University.

An experienced litigator, Sholinsky resolves a broad range of commercial and workplace disputes in federal and state court for businesses and nonprofits. He represents retail and internet-based companies in business and consumer lawsuits at trial and on appeal and has litigated numerous cases on behalf of regional and national banks, media outlets and nonprofit organizations. He regularly handles disputes related to breach of contract and other business torts, employment matters involving alleged violations of federal and state discrimination laws as well as litigation matters involving banking and financial services and media and communications.

He also represents railroads in real estate and injury cases, including disputes over personal jurisdiction.

Sholinsky represents pro bono clients at trial and on appeal, focusing on First Amendment issues, prisoner rights and immigration matters. He is on the board and was vice president of HIAS Pennsylvania, a nonprofit organization that provides legal and social services to immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.

He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Rutgers Law School and his B.A.,cum laude, from the University of Michigan.

Prior to Fox, Banks and Sholinsky were partners at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP.
