Honored for the “indelible mark” he has made on the legal profession, Fox Rothschild Chair Emeritus Abraham C. Reich will be inducted into the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Best of the Bar Hall of Fame.

Reich has spent his nearly 50-year legal career with Fox Rothschild. He ascended to leadership roles in the firm, serving as Managing Partner and then Co-Chair, beginning in 2005, and charted the firm’s remarkable growth from a 300-attorney regional firm to a 1,000-attorney national powerhouse with 29 offices now ranked among the Am Law 100.

One of a trio of dynamic leaders, Reich effectuated the firm’s strategic growth plan with then-Firmwide Managing Partner Mark L. Silow and then-Co-Chair Philip E. Griffin.

Reich served as Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association in 1995. For 21 years, he has been ranked by Chambers USA as one of the leading litigators in Pennsylvania. In Chambers reviews, Reich has been noted as “an outstanding courtroom presence” who “personifies pragmatism” and “excels in handling complex commercial disputes including those involving law firms.”

A ubiquitous presence in the state and federal courts who has held a variety of prominent leadership positions, Reich chaired the Lawyers Advisory Committee of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1998. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania and American Bar Association House of Delegates and served as Chair of the Board of the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board.

Reich’s practice spans all aspects of business litigation. He represents clients in legal ethics and professional responsibility matters, defense of legal malpractice and other professional responsibility issues. He serves as a mediator and an arbitrator, resolving business disputes such as corporate divorces, antitrust, securities, trade secrets and intellectual property matters. He also represents lawyers and serves as an expert witness in legal ethics, professional responsibility and law firm matters.

Reich, who has also been an adjunct professor at University of Pennsylvania Carey School of Law for the past 18 years, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during a special event on November 16, 2023.
