Aliza Karetnick and Steve Park Named 'Best of the Bar' by the Philadelphia Business Journal

Aliza R. Karetnick, a litigator and counselor who handles complex commercial, class action, and intellectual property disputes, and Steve T. Park, a finance attorney who advises on major public-private development projects, have been recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal with the ‘Best of the Bar’ Award for 2023.

Ms. Karetnick and Mr. Park are among 35 Best of the Bar honorees for 2023, including private practitioners and in-house corporate counsel. They comprise “the region’s most impactful lawyers” based on demonstrated success over the past 15 months, including the significance of their matters and the results of their legal work. Honorees will be celebrated at a Nov. 16 event at Rivers Casino Philadelphia and featured in a special edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal on Nov. 17.

Ms. Karetnick is recognized in the Business Litigation category. She serves as practice leader of Ballard Spahr’s Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group, as co-leader of the firm’s cross-practice Manufacturing and Consumer Products Industry Team, and as co-leader of the Class Action Litigation Team. She is a trusted legal adviser and trial lawyer with a focus on complex commercial, class action, and intellectual property litigation. Ms. Karetnick has particular experience working with companies in the personal care, cosmetics, flavor, and food industries.

Mr. Park is recognized in the Corporate category. He serves as co-leader of Ballard Spahr’s P3/Infrastructure Group within the firm’s national Finance Department. He regularly advises public entities, private developers, and lenders in all phases of public-private partnership (P3) development for transportation, infrastructure, social infrastructure, energy, and innovative delivery projects. Mr. Park has played the central legal role for numerous projects, including university housing and on-site energy facilities, as well as bridges and highways for state transportation agencies across the country.
