Duane Morris Welcomes Corporate Partner Michael S. Harrington and Special Counsel Elizabeth G. Hodgson in Philadelphia

Michael S. Harrington has joined Duane Morris LLP as a partner in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in its Philadelphia office. Prior to joining Duane Morris, Harrington was a partner at Fox Rothschild LLP. Additionally, Elizabeth G. Hodgson will be joining Harrington at Duane Morris as a special counsel in its Corporate Practice Group.

“Mike brings substantial experience to our practice group. We are strategically adding to our transactional and emerging company practice areas, markets we have been looking to support,” said Brian P. Kerwin, chair of Duane Morris’ Corporate Practice Group.

Harrington represents early and growth-stage companies in the life sciences, technology, health care and clean tech sectors on a wide range of corporate matters, including finance, securities, venture capital, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, taxation and technology law. His experience includes advising private, institutional and strategic investors; assisting growth companies with critical financing relationships; negotiating and documenting corporate transactions; and leveraging intellectual property through licensing, development or joint venture relationships. Beyond his practice, Harrington is a respected member of Philadelphia’s venture capital, technology and entrepreneurial community, with years of leadership and involvement in the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies. He is also a frequent commentator on equity crowdfunding issues.

Hodgson focuses her practice on the representation of startup and growth-stage companies and closely held businesses in the life sciences, technology, health care, software and information technology sectors. She was recently recognized as a VISTA 2023 Millennial Superstar by VISTA Today. While in law school, Hodgson was the editor-in-chief of the Penn State Law Review and a member of the Woolsack Honors Society. She served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Martin C. Carlson of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Hodgson formerly served as president of the board of directors of Home of the Sparrow, a nonprofit organization striving to prevent homelessness among women and children in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and she is actively involved with The Freckled Strawberry, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering financial independence in women and coaching female entrepreneurs. She received her J.D. from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law and her B.A. from Pennsylvania State University.

Harrington is a graduate of Villanova University School of Law (LL.M., 1995; J.D., 1994) and Niagara University (B.A., summa cum laude, 1991).
