Jeffrey A. Mills, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Real Estate and Public & Project Finance Groups, has been appointed to the Washington County Commissioner’s transition team by Commissioner Nick Sherman and Commissioner-Elect Electra Janis. Mills and other transition team members have been tasked with assessing the efficiency of the county's government.
The transition team, consisting of eight members, will convene over the coming months, aiming to present recommendations to the commissioners by January 31, 2024. The team's key areas of focus encompass policy leadership and management, with a commitment to enhancing good government practices and transparency. They will also concentrate on strategic investments and planning for economic development, ensuring fiscal responsibility to protect taxpayers, fostering positive public engagement, and achieving operational excellence.
“Jeff’s skills come from his extensive professional background and will allow us to review many areas of the county operations. He is not only a leader in his profession but in his community,” stated Commissioner-Elect Janis.
Mills focuses his practice on real estate and has extensive experience in commercial and corporate finance, tax-exempt and taxable bonds, and general corporate representation. His work in real estate development includes handling acquisitions, divestitures, land use and zoning, leasing, financing, and obtaining economic incentives for commercial, retail, office, and industrial development. He is a nationally recognized Red Book Bond Counsel and a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
