Rawle & Henderson Partner John C. McMeekin II was elected to the Executive Committee of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania (HSP) at their 199th annual meeting on December 11th. He joined the Society’s Board of Councilors in 2021.

Mr. McMeekin is continuing a tradition of community service begun by William Rawle, the founder of the law firm in 1783, and the founder of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania in 1824. The law firm of Rawle & Henderson has been recognized by the American Bar Association as the oldest law firm in continuous practice in the United States.
The Historical Society of Pennsylvania is one of the nation’s largest archives of historical documents focusing on early American history, the history of Pennsylvania and two centuries of life including significant genealogic research material.
