Robert A. Gallagher, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Construction practice, has been appointed to office managing partner in Pittsburgh, effective January 1, 2024. Gallagher succeeds Partner Ralph A. Finizio.
“I am honored to take on this leadership role with the Pittsburgh office,” Gallagher said. “The office’s culture originally attracted me to join as a summer associate. The clients and people here have shaped that culture and are why it has been my second home for over 17 years. As Troutman Pepper continues to grow, I look forward to building on the foundation that Ralph and those before him so ably established during their tenures.”
Gallagher dedicates his practice to representing technology companies, contractors, and owners on infrastructure projects, with a primary emphasis in the water, energy, transportation, and waste sectors. He has handled disputes, ranging from $1 million to more than $4.5 billion in contract value, in nearly every U.S. state and across six continents. He is the editor-in-chief of Constructlaw®, a blog focusing on recent trends in construction law and construction litigation. Gallagher has been recognized by Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and other industry authorities.
Gallagher is active in the Pittsburgh community. He is a member and elected section council of the Construction Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association. He is president of Mars Girls Youth Lacrosse Association and an Assistant Professor by Courtesy at Duquesne University where he has taught Law and Ethics and Advanced Law and Ethics for over 15 years.
