Joseph T. Imperiale, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Construction practice, has been appointed to office managing partner in Philadelphia, effective January 1, 2024. Imperiale succeeds Partner Michael H. Friedman.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be trusted by leadership in this new role. I want to continue Michael’s remarkable success as we take the firm and the Philadelphia office into the future,” Imperiale said. “This region is of high importance to the firm’s strategy, so I am particularly focused on keeping us forward thinking in terms of innovation, talent, and client service.”

Imperiale has practiced in Troutman Pepper’s nationally recognized Construction Practice group since 2004. He is a first-chair trial attorney who resolves his clients’ most difficult and complex domestic and international disputes, ranging from $1 million to more than $5 billion in contract value. His client roster includes owners, EPC contractors, construction managers, general contractors, and subcontractors. In addition to litigation disputes, Imperiale also advises clients on a wide array of construction projects, including power plants, mass transit systems, highways, high voltage electric transmission lines, pipelines, and heavy industrial and commercial construction projects.

Beyond his successful construction practice, Imperiale’s ties to the city and state run deep. He is recognized consistently as a leading lawyer in Pennsylvania and has dedicated time to various boards and organizations that serve the Philadelphia community. Imperiale also received his J.D. from Villanova University.
