Evercross Electric Scooter | Amazon.com

PHILADELPHIA - The maker of an electric scooter and Amazon face a lawsuit alleging it caught fire while charging.

Devon Logan, an adult individual residing in Trainer filed a lawsuit against Evercross, Inc. and Amazon.com and its related subsidiaries in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in November. The case was removed to federal court on Jan. 3.

Logan ordered Evercross' electric scooter off Amazon in November 2021. He says it was delivered without full instructions for use or care and nothing regarding the risk of fire.

The day he received it, Logan says the scooter caught fire while charging.

"The plaintiff... in an attempt to put the fire out, sustained serious burn injuries and is now left with permanent scarring as a result of the incident," the suit says.

Those burns occurred on his hands, arms and a leg, the suit says.

The plaintiff's attorney is Marc C. Bendo from the Law Office of Marc C. Bendo P.C., based in Philadelphia.
