National law firm Eckert Seamans has appointed Pittsburgh-based Member Raymond C. Vogliano as Chair of the firm’s Tax, Estates & Employee Benefits practice. Additionally, Harrisburg-based Member Deanne M. O’Dell has been named Co-Chair of the firm’s Utilities practice group and will serve alongside current Chair Daniel Clearfield.
Vogliano has extensive tax and estates experience representing clients on a wide variety of tax, business, trusts, and estates matters, including sophisticated planning, administration, and family business counseling on tax minimization strategies and wealth succession issues. His tax experience also includes structuring and planning with partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations. Vogliano represents individual and business clients in tax controversies before federal, state, and local taxing authorities and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.
O’Dell has nearly 20 years of public utility law experience representing clients including electricity generation suppliers, natural gas suppliers, distribution companies, telephone carriers, and water utilities. She advises on the various facets of regulatory law, including business planning, licensing, regulatory compliance, policy advocacy, and monitoring of relevant issues. O’Dell has litigated numerous major cases before various public utility commissions and several clients before the Pennsylvania appellate courts and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Prior to entering private practice, she served at the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for seven years.
