YORK - Parents of a 5-year-old girl who was sexually abused on the way to school are suing the bus company.

A lawsuit was filed Jan. 16 in the York County Court of Common Pleas against Krapf Group, Inc. and Red Lion Bus, Inc.

The plaintiffs are proceeding under pseudonyms and are represented by their attorney Justin F. Robinette on January 16, 2024.

The plaintiffs say their daughter was sexually assaulted on Oct. 16 while riding the bus to school. The suit says the assailant had a history of sexual assault.

The suit blames the bus companies for failing to adequately staff the bus with monitors, despite knowing of the history of sexual assault.

It says the defendants failed to report the assault to ChildLine. The young girl now allegedly suffers from psychological trauma, mental anguish, humiliation and loss of enjoyment of life, among other problems.
