PHILADELPHIA - The father of an intoxicated man questing to find their hotel room says Bethlehem officers assaulted him when they confronted the duo.

A lawsuit was filed against Bethlehem Police Department and Wind Creek Bethlehem, among others, Feb. 13 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The plaintiff, David Brill, alleges assault, battery, negligence, and constitutional violations under Pennsylvania state law and the United States Constitution.

The incident occurred Feb. 13, 2022, at the Wind Creek Bethlehem Hotel and Casino. Brill's son Karl was intoxicated and told to leave the casino floor, so Brill went to give him a key so he could get on the elevator and up to their room.

Instead, the suit says, police in the casino were hostile, despite directions to Karl to stay quiet. Brill says he was pushed by police as they tried to arrest Karl. Brill adds that his arm was twisted behind his back.

Brill's arm was broken. His suit names several individual officers, with screenshots of them.

Brill is represented by Kevin O'Brien of Stampone O'Brien Dilsheimer.
