Continuing to Grow, Steptoe & Johnson’s Pittsburgh Office Welcomes Andrew Maher

Andrew C. Maher has joined the Pittsburgh office of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC as a Member. He joins the firm’s Business Department and will focus his practice on real estate and public finance matters.

“I am excited to be continuing my practice at Steptoe & Johnson,” Maher remarked. “I look forward to joining my former colleagues Jim Chiafullo and Jason Antin and collaborating with my new colleagues at the firm.”

Andrew focuses on real estate and public finance law, acting as bond counsel and borrowers’ counsel for government and nonprofit entities. He advises financial institutions as underwriters and bank counsel in both public and private offerings of municipal securities, dealing with taxable and tax-exempt bonds. Andrew helps with compliance in federal securities laws, tax regulations, and legal requirements. Additionally, he represents banks and borrowers in both taxable and tax-exempt loans and engages in public-private partnerships, multifamily and single-family housing projects, and economic development initiatives.

Maher earned his law degree and his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.

 The addition of Maher marks the continuation of the rapid growth of the firm’s Pittsburgh office, which is now home to over 30 attorneys. The office recently relocated to One PPG Place to accommodate current and future growth and strengthen its presence in the market.
