Reed Smith honored in 6 Pennsylvania Legal Award categories on March 14, 2024

Reed Smith was named a finalist in four categories and a winner in two more for the upcoming 2024 Pennsylvania Legal Awards.

The awards, sponsored by Law.com affiliate The Legal Intelligencer, “highlight the great work and achievements across the full breadth of the legal communities in Pennsylvania and Delaware.”

Reed Smith and its people were named finalists in the following categories:

  • Law Firm of the Year: Reed Smith is among six finalists for the Penn Legal Awards’ top honor for 2024.
  • Litigation Department of the Year: Reed Smith is among seven finalists for Litigation Department of the Year in the General Litigation sub-category.
  • ESG Impact: For the second year in a row, Reed Smith has been named a top firm for its landmark environmental, social and governance (ESG) work.
  • Most Effective Dealmakers: Pittsburgh-based partner Ryan Purpura, who serves as global co-chair of the firm’s global Energy and Natural Resources group, is a finalist for Most Effective Dealmaker of 2024.
Additionally, the firm was named a winner for:

  • Lawyers on the Fast Track: Pittsburgh-based partner Mark Fidanza, a trial-tested litigator in the firm’s Global Commercial Disputes group, was named to The Legal’s annual list of the top 21 practitioners in the region who are under the age of 40.
  • Unsung Heroes: Laura Karmatz, the firm’s senior director of alumni relations, was named a 2024 Unsung Hero for her essential behind-the-scenes work in establishing an alumni network for the firm’s more than 15,000 former employees since 2000.
Winners in the finalist categories will be announced, and all nominees honored, at an in-person awards dinner in Philadelphia on May 15, 2024.
