PITTSBURGH - A Pittsburgh lawsuit claims water for tea was heated too much and ended up burning a customer at Eat'n Park.
Eat'n Park Hospitality Group, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based restaurant chain, is facing a lawsuit filed by Stephanie Berkovic. The suit was lodged March 14 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County.
The plaintiff alleges that she suffered injuries due to negligence on the part of the defendant's employees.
According to the complaint, on May 23, 2023, Berkovic purchased a food order from an Eat'n Park restaurant located at 201 Ohio River Boulevard, Sewickley. As part of her order, she was given a drink carrier with a cup of hot water for tea.
Berkovic claims that the water was heated beyond the industry standard for serving tea and that it was unreasonably hot.
Furthermore, she alleges that one space in the drink carrier was defective and could not securely hold a cup. Consequently, when the defendant's employees served her hot tea in this faulty space, it tipped over and spilled.
The plaintiff demands a jury trial and has engaged Howard F. Murphy as her attorney.
