Webp award

Trophy | In collaboration with Katelyn Perry

Fox Rothschild congratulates Gunjan Agarwal, who was named to the 2024 class of “Women of Influence” by the Pittsburgh Business Times.

The coveted list highlights influential businesswomen who have “made significant strides in their careers while also giving back to the community.”

Agarwal is Practice Management Partner of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. She works closely with domestic and international clients, assisting in the development and management of worldwide patent portfolios.

“I’m an engineer by profession,” she told the Pittsburgh Business Times. Agarwal views her master’s degree in bioengineering as crucial to her client’ success. “(Patent protection) work in particular requires a science background or an engineering degree…so I knew I would be able to use that…to talk to clients in their language — my clients are mostly scientists and engineers.”

Agarwal is an active member of the Pittsburgh Legal Diversity & Inclusion Coalition’ and serves on its Community Building Committee. In this role, she works to create opportunities for diverse lawyers to develop a sense of community with other attorneys and professionals in the area.

“I myself am a diverse attorney,” she said. “It’s very important to encourage diverse law students and college students, to teach them about the practice of law.”

She is active with several outreach organizations that work to promote and support education – particularly the education of women – in India. She is a mentor to girls attending Indian high schools who need assistance navigating that country’s society as they work to achieve professional success. Additionally, she helps raise funds for special enrichment activities, primarily for girls, in Indian schools.

Agarwal also mentors attorneys at Fox and helps the firm’s summer associate program.
