Man's slip on banana peel leads to lawsuit

SCRANTON - A banana peel is to blame for a man's fall at a Sunoco gas station, a lawsuit seeking damages from the company says.

A lawsuit was filed May 2 in the Court of Common Pleas of Lackawanna County by Ronnie Zvolensky against Shankara, LLC, doing business as Sunoco. 

The plaintiff alleges that on August 9, 2022, he slipped and fell on a slippery substance or banana peel in the parking lot of the defendant's property while attempting to purchase gas.

This incident allegedly resulted in severe and permanent injuries for Zvolensky. The complaint accuses Shankara, LLC of negligence for failing to maintain safe conditions on their premises and not warning customers about potential hazards.
