PITTSBURGH - The owner of Hollywood Casino at the Meadows faces a trip-and-fall lawsuit alleging a dangerous cornhole area.

Asad Zaltash recently filed a lawsuit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against Washington Trotting Association, LLC, doing business as Hollywood Casino at the Meadows.

The plaintiff alleges that on February 17, 2024, he suffered serious injuries due to a dangerous condition at the casino's premises. The complaint states that a single step in the cornhole and football game area was similar in color to the flooring, creating a trip hazard without proper warning signs or barriers.

As a result, Zaltash tripped and fell, sustaining multiple injuries including fractures and severe pain, the suit says.

The lawsuit claims that the defendant was negligent in maintaining the premises safely for its patrons. It asserts that Washington Trotting Association failed to remedy or warn about the hazardous condition despite having knowledge of it.

Zaltash is seeking damages exceeding mandatory arbitration limits for his injuries, medical expenses, and potential permanent disability.

Eve Elsen of Phillips Froetschel represents Zaltash.
