In the 2023-24 term, the Supreme Court has once again issued several landmark decisions that will affect the workplace and every American.
Among the most significant cases are:
- Muldrow v. the City of St. Louis, in which the Court redefined the harm that plaintiffs must prove in order to make a Title VII claim.
- Starbucks Corp. v. McKinney, in which the Court reversed the lower courts and imposed a more demanding standard when the NLRB seeks a preliminary injunction against an employer.
- Murray v. UBS Securities LLC, which sets forth what a Sarbanes Oxley whistleblower must prove when bringing a retaliation claim.
- Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, in which the Court struck down the Chevron doctrine and the deference given to federal agencies.
We look forward to seeing you! Be sure to look out for future sessions so that we can continue these valuable discussions as the year goes on.
